ABOUT US
ILLUSTRATOR
Petra Thorsen began teaching art to students of varying ages after graduating from University in 2006 with a degree in Fine Arts and a post-graduate qualification in Education. Since a young age she has been passionate about illustration and picture books. However, it was looking at children's book illustration through the eyes of her own two children that taught her how to work successfully in this genre. She works in digital as well as traditional illustration media, including pen and ink, acrylics and watercolours.
AUTHOR
Marguerite Monvoisin has a Masters Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Therapy specialising in young children. For 15 years she used picture books as an integral part of each therapy session, and presented parent workshops on selecting and using just the right books for each child’s communicative development. She has been writing since she discovered she could operate a pencil, and has an unreasonable number of books in her house. Marguerite is married, lives in Cape Town and is the mother of two bookworms and avid storytellers.
